Maharashtra Government Announces 'Ladka Shetkari' Scheme Following the Success of 'Ladki Bahini' Initiative

Mumbai:
With the Maharashtra Assembly elections approaching, political activity in the state has intensified. Leaders are embarking on state-wide tours, devising strategies for the upcoming elections. Recently, the MahaYuti government introduced the 'Chief Minister Ladki Bahini Yojana,' which has sparked significant discussion across the state. The scheme has led to a series of accusations and counter-accusations between the ruling party and the opposition.

Amidst this backdrop, a state-level agriculture festival was organized in Beed, where Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a major announcement. "After the success of the Ladki Bahini Yojana, we will now launch the 'Ladka Shetkari Yojana'," declared CM Shinde during the event.

What Did CM Eknath Shinde Say?

"The MahaYuti government's work is focused on providing direct market access to farmers for their crops. We don't just offer packages; we ensure farmers have direct access to the market. Our government's policy revolves around the hardworking farmers, the devout Warkaris, and the welfare of farmers. Today, I am here to announce that after the Ladki Bahini Yojana, the Annapurna Yojana, and the Ladka Bhau Yojana, we are now set to launch the Ladka Shetkari Yojana. All brothers and sisters have been taken care of, and now it's time for our farmers to be prioritized," stated CM Shinde.

Soybean and Cotton Farmers to Receive Rs. 5,000 per Hectare

"We will also be requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to ensure that our farmers get a good price for their soybean and cotton crops. The welfare of farmers must be a priority. Today, we are deciding to provide Rs. 5,000 per hectare for soybean and cotton crops, with a limit of up to 2 hectares," announced CM Shinde.

"We will be setting aside the e-Pik Pahani (electronic crop survey) process for now. Farmers with soybean and cotton registered on their 7/12 land records will be eligible for Rs. 5,000 per hectare. Additionally, we are waiving the electricity bills for farmers' irrigation pumps. The opposition questioned what we would do about previous electricity bills. If we aren't collecting future bills from farmers, how can we collect overdue ones? Our government has also launched various schemes, including the 'Magael Tyala Shet Talav' (ponds on demand) and solar energy initiatives," added CM Shinde.

This new announcement underlines the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector, ensuring that farmers are recognized and rewarded for their hard work. The 'Ladka Shetkari Yojana' is expected to further strengthen the bond between the government and the farming community, offering them much-needed financial support and market access.
