Stree 2 Triumphs at the Box Office: A Record-Breaking Week

Stree 2, the latest entry in the Maddock Supernatural Universe, has made a remarkable impact at the Indian box office. The film, which hit theaters on August 15, has quickly become a major success, surpassing the ₹200 crore mark in just five days. As of its sixth day, Stree 2 has amassed an impressive ₹254.55 crore.

Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, benefited greatly from the partial holiday on Raksha Bandhan. The movie opened strong with ₹51.8 crore on its first day, followed by ₹31.4 crore on the second, ₹43.85 crore on the third, and ₹55.9 crore on the fourth. The fifth day saw a collection of approximately ₹37 crore, bringing its total to ₹228.45 crore.

This impressive achievement places Stree 2 among the fastest Bollywood films to cross the ₹200 crore milestone, joining the ranks of recent hits like Jawan, Animal, Pathaan, and Gadar 2. The film has already outpaced the lifetime earnings of Fighter, which grossed ₹212.79 crore, and shows no signs of slowing down.

In contrast, other films released alongside Stree 2 have struggled. Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, has earned only ₹15.50 crore, while Khel Khel Mein featuring Akshay Kumar has garnered just ₹15.95 crore in the same period.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 continues the story from the original Stree, focusing on Vicky and his friends' battle against a menacing headless creature named Sarkata. The film also features cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film's exceptional performance on social media, noting its unwavering box office hold and projecting that it could reach ₹400 crore or even ₹500 crore by the end of its run. As Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office, it solidifies its place as a major success in 2024's film landscape.
